Lana Coxton - MS, RD, ACSM
Lana Coxton has worked in the field of Health & Wellness for over 15 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Madonna University. Lana is a Registered Dietitian whom completed her dietetic internship at Hurley Medical Center Level One Trauma Center in Flint, Michigan. In addition, Lana has a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University. Lana is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health & Fitness Specialist.
Lana Coxton is currently employed with Oakwood Healthcare System as a Clinical Inpatient Dietitian for the Intensive Care Unit. She currently teaches for Madonna University instructing future dietitians and nurses. Lana provides nutrition consultations specializing in gastrointestinal disorders that include celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity and food sensitivities, and allergies. Lana is a nutrition consultant for the Tri-County Celiac Support Group and Renee’s Gourmet Pizzeria (100% Gluten and Nut Free Restaurant in Troy, Michigan).
Lana was also involved with the Oakwood Community Health Department providing nutrition, health, and wellness to many community organizations such as non-profit groups, faith based groups, and schools. She owned and operated Whole Body Health & Fitness a company that provided wellness and nutrition programs for various corporations and other networks.
Lana is a member of both the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Michigan Dietetics Educators Group. Her long term goals are to obtain a doctorate's degree and become a published nutrition author.
